FINALLY
Well after three and a half years of graduate school....I finally got notice on Tuesday that I will be graduating in May!!!! YIPPEE!! My research paper was accepted as were my comprehensive exams! I have added three additional endorsements to my teaching license while completing my Master's Degree! I'm so excited to not have to take classes, especially this coming summer...I can just stay home and hang out with Wyatt and Brian! I will be walking for graduation on May 9th, I'll be sure to post pictures!

Another Milestone!
Wyatt rolled over from his back to him tummy this afternoon. Again Brian and I were both able to see it! Once he rolled over to his tummy he proceeded to spit up all over the carpet......guess I'll have to keep him better centered on the blanket now! Next milestone....I have no idea what comes next, guess we'll let Wyatt figure that one out!!

All Smiles :)
Did I Just Do That?!?!
Last night we had Wyatt on the floor playing on his tummy. He was babbling and moving around quite a bit. And just like that he had rolled from his tummy to his back. I think he was just as shocked as we were. His first rolling over experience was less than smooth! His head hit the floor and he had the funniest look on his face. I put him back on his tummy to see if he could do it again...but he didn't. Hopefully this new 'skill' will happen more often!
Here is a picture from a few weeks ago. He apparently played so hard he needed a nap!

You want me to eat what?!
We finally go to use the high-chair my parents gave us for Christmas last week. Wyatt has officially started eating food. It was both Brian and my first experience with rice cereal...a little gross to be honest! Wyatt ate it without even missing a beat. His tongue got in the way at first, but then he got the hang of it. A week later he's eating it every night before bed and only getting up once during the night instead of three times! I am finally getting some decent chunks of sleeping in!
What dog?!
I thought I better put a picture up of our first baby...Trucker dog. Trucker is now 3 1/2 years old, but she still acts like a puppy. These days she probably feels a little abandoned as Wyatt now gets most of the attention. She hasn't quite figured out how to be quiet when he's asleep...maybe someday!
What a big boy!
Christmas 2008
Christmas was pretty uneventful at our house. Wyatt was only 9 weeks old at the time.
We did have a pretty good time at Christmas with the Linn's side, as my older sister Kelli and her husband Paul have two little girls. It was neat to see the three little kids all together!
Wyatt is a very happy baby and seems to smile whenever he sees mom or dad. It also doesn't take much to get him to giggling like crazy! I need to figure out a way to record it...I could listen to him giggle for hours:) Brian and I are constantly trying to find new ways to get him to laugh and smile. He's really starting to get a personality!

Deep in Thought
Overalls!
Better late than never!

Well, Brian set this blog up when we were still in the hospital with Wyatt...and here we are almost 17 weeks later and I am just getting around to posting some things!
Wyatt Jeffrey Balk was born October 19th, 2008. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. Everyone said he looked just like his daddy
