I went out and bought a new sprinkler this year....couldn't find the one from last summer. The kids have loved it so far. I foresee many afternoons spent running through it, entertaining our elderly neighbors from afar.

The First Week of Summer
Both of the kids like to do crafts....so I am going to attempt to utilize our new Hobby Lobby store this summer to help them create some fun crafts. Neither of them like getting dirty or covered in paint....so finger painting is a no go at our house.
Got this idea for Pinterest. They turned out pretty good when I peeled off the masking tape.
I'm not the only one who loves naptime this summer! We've still got her in the crib...for a few more weeks before we buy her a new bedroom set. We'll need the crib in about two months!
The first week of summer also brought Wyatt 5 stitches in the forehead. He fell in our downstairs shower. He and Brian got to sit for three hours in ER waiting for the stitches. He did not like the Novocain needle on the top of his head...but sat pretty well for the five stitches.
He can have them taken out tomorrow or Monday. We'll see how that goes...
Kristal, our daycare provider, took this great photo of Ruthie on the playground this week. It can be very hard to get a photo of her standing still!
Piggies, doggie, and a scary turtle
Ruthie's hair is long enough for some pretty good piggie tails now. They stay better when her hair is wet, but they sure are cute!
This is one of my most favorite photos lately. Wyatt's job is picking up dog poop once a week or so. Ruthie will follow him around with the bucket, until it gets too heavy. I found it hilarious when they were picking up Kona's poop, just to look up and see her creating more poop for them to pick up!
Kona turned one on May 11th. She's turned out to be a pretty big dog, about 52 pounds. Her energy is almost inexhaustible. Before I was pregnant, I once took her on a five mile run...she was unphased by it.
She likes to sneak up onto the deck chairs when I put her out on the deck. Our deck doesn't have steps, it is just a second story deck. That being said, it is a good place to put Kona when she is being a pain or trying to eat the kids' food during meal time.
Rue can be quite the jokester. Here she is in Wyatt's Ninja Turtle mask scaring Brian. She found great giggles in 'hiding' next to Brian's chair and jumping up to scare him.
Nothing like a turtle mask with princess pajamas!
An Attempt to Document a Baby Bump
I've never really documented or taken pictures of myself when pregnant. Afterwards I've always regretted it. So this, last, time around, I've tried to take a few photos as we go.
Ruthie loves to listen and kiss the baby. I can only hope this continues when it is a crying, nursing, fussing baby.
I think I was about 16 weeks here.
Here I am at around 24 weeks. I remember feeling super big on this particular day. It could have been that I was still trying to wear 'normal' clothes with this big tummy.
A side view at about 29 weeks. Almost done with school!
The purple girls! Ruthie's favorite color is purple...she will wear it everyday if I let her. I am about 29 weeks here too.
My view one early morning on the treadmill. I can't run anymore and haven't been able to since about 15 weeks. I cannot see my toes anymore.
I'll try to click a few more photos before we meet this baby!

The End to His First Year of School

| Wyatt and Ruthie on his last day of kindergarten
It was pretty crazy to see just how much both Ruthie and Wyatt have grown up this year. Both are so much taller and Ruthie's hair is so much longer.
|
Ruthie had her first haircut last week. She was quite apprehensive at first, not too sure about the salon. With the help of some fruit snack and IPTV on my cellphone, Ruthie sat really well on my lap as Amanda cut about an inch and a half off the back and an inch off the sides. Not a major change, but it's all now the same length, except for her bangs.
She seems to have turned into a little girl before our eyes the last few weeks. She's been accessorizing with necklaces and bracelets, showing off her new summer dresses and pajamas, and sitting really well so I can get her hair done in the mornings.
It's kind of bitter sweet seeing her get so big, but it was bound to happen. Maybe this next little Balk baby will be a girl, but as Wyatt pointed out, then I'd have to do two little girls hair in the mornings. :)
Baby #3 Video Part 2
Here is the second video we have of our baby number 3. It's hard to believe it's been 10weeks since this ultrasound and just 10 more weeks until our due date! Lots to accomplish and purchase before August 18th!
