Thumbs Up Mom!

I received this picture in a text message this past Wednesday from Brian.  Wyatt and Brian went to Preschool Visitation Day at First English Preschool together.  (I had to miss it because it was the 3rd day of school)  The picture says everything!

Wyatt is super excited to go to school...and I'm getting there too!  Wyatt told me all about finding his name (who knew he could read his name!!), his symbol (a star), and what his chore will be Monday (passing out napkins).  Brian and Wyatt got to do a craft, (painting) tour the building more, and have some playtime in their make-believe kitchen.  Brian was very proud of how well he listened and participated during the visitation time.

He's very excited to go Monday and Wednesday morning for the school year.  He will get to ride a bus to daycare afterwards as well.  We'll see how much he likes the bus Monday.....his friend from daycare seemed to love it this past week so I'm sure he will too.

I know everyone says it's crazy how fast kids grow up....but seriously...it's crazy how fast kids grow up!  He's no longer our little baby, but a very big boy!   I can't wait to hear about all the amazing things he will learn!

Surprise!

So.....We're Expecting!  We've known for a long time...Easter to be exact, but are finally sharing the news online!  We had an ultrasound this past week and here are some of the pictures we got of our little person.

This one shows the baby's hand resting right behind it's head....relaxing in there apparently!

This one shows a good overall profile of the baby: head, abdomen, and legs.
This is actually a movie they took of some of the movement the baby was doing during the ultrasound.

When we were pregnant with Wyatt we found out what gender the baby was and shared it and our chosen name with anyone who would ask.....this time around we decided to keep it a secret!  Brian and I know the gender of the baby, but are going to keep mum until we meet our little addition in December.  We think it will be a great surprise for not only Wyatt, but our family and friends!

Summer!

Yes, we are still around....it has been almost two months since I've added photos of our family!  We've been busy with the business, house renovations, playing at the park, moving, and swimming lessons.  I'm about ready to go back to school after the hectic summer we've had!

Wyatt started his first swimming lessons last month at our local YMCA.  We are about half way done with them at this point.  He loves to swim and is quite the fish already.  Yet another example of how he is like his father!

I actually had to tell Wyatt to stop putting his head in the water after his second lesson.  The teachers kept having to tell him to knock it off.....they were afraid he'd fall in when he was doing it from the side of the pool.  Here he is dipping his head in while doggie paddling.

Floating....he won't do it in our little pool, but loves to do it at the Y.  I was pretty proud of him when I saw him do this!  Very brave!
Lastly, some summer entertainment on yet another scorching hot Iowa day.  Masking tape, cars, and a 3 year old boy....hours of entertainment!
