Monster Party!

 

Today we had Wyatt's 4th birthday party.....a little bitter sweet to be honest!  It's so amazing to have a growing, intelligent, funny 4 year old.  It's crazy how much he's learned in the past year!  

This year is different as we realize this will be his last party as an only child.  He doesn't know it yet...but his world will be very different this time next year!

 

I love the look on his face in this photo!  This dinosaur makes several noises...including a burp...when you pull a handle on it.

Wyatt was enthralled with all of his gifts this year....if only the boxes weren't so hard to get into!  Dinosaurs were a big hit!

Another dinosaur toy....it transforms from a dinosaur into a car...and has buttons that talk as well!

 

"Goal!"  Wyatt loves to be outside, so this soccer net and ball are perfect for him!

 

I see hours of entertainment ahead of us with this net....we also discovered it will make a great tent if knocked down!

 

Daddy got in on the action too.  I had no idea how good of a goalie Wyatt is...Brian only got a few past him.

This look melts my heart!  Not only did he eat his ice cream this year....he ate the frosting AND cake as well!  He's never eaten the cake at his birthday party's in the past!

 

Now isn't that a look!  Sing faster...I want some cake!

 

We made monster masks with the kids while dinner was being grilled.  They had a blast and got to take them home!

A Preview of Birthday Number 4!

Wyatt decided he wanted a Monster Birthday Party this year.  It's kind of turned into a monster/halloweenish party.  I found some super cute plates and napkins online as well as monster part stickers and masks the kids will get to make. 

We will of course have Brian's favorite....30 balloons to play with. 

 

Wyatt, Lorrie, and I made these scary ghosts last weekend.  Wyatt loves to do crafts...I think it comes from daycare.  Kristal, our daycare lady, does tons of great crafts with the kids.

Wyatt and I made these cute monkey cupcakes for him to take to Kristal's to share with his friends at daycare.  He thought they were hilarious.  I will also make 14 more of them for him to take to Preschool on Monday...along with some bananas!

 

Wyatt continues to be a huge fan of his daddy.  He opened two gifts Brian and I got him, on his birthday.  This box had Perry the Platypus pajamas and Spiderman slippers.  Even Cooper, Lorrie's dog, had to get in on the opening presents.



His second present was Hungry Hungry Hippos!  I saw this at the store and knew immediately it was made just for our newly 4 year old.  Once Brian put it together, Wyatt totally loved it.  I can't tell you how many games we've played in the last two days!

Last year we let Wyatt pick the restaurant he wanted to eat at for his birthday...McDonald's.  This year we let him pick...and he picked Plaza Mexico....interesting....right!  He got chicken nuggets and french fries, the rest of us (Nana Lorrie, Big Papa, Grandma Linn, Brian, and I) got to eat some delicious Mexican food!

 

Last, but not least....Wyatt's cake for his Monster party tomorrow!  This has to be the easiest of the cakes I have made for him yet!  Everyone will have black teeth and lips tomorrow.....it will make for some silly pictures I'm sure!

We are expected some great weather for this years party!  We hope to be able to ride tricycles, his fast car, and play outside...in addition to having some lunch, opening presents, and eating some cake and ice cream.

Pumpkins

As is part of our fall tradition, today we visited a pumpkin patch that donates their money to a food bank.  Wyatt likes the pumpkins, I like that we get to give to others. 

 

 

As you can see, Wyatt still likes his dinosaur costume (I wouldn't let him wear the tail).  He also likes to chew gum....thus none of my pictures have smiles....only half chomps on his gum. 

 Mental note for the future....no gum!

Wyatt and Daddy picking out a pumpkin for all of us.  Mine for some reason was the biggest this year...I think he's noticed the weight I've put on.

It was pretty chilly this year for our annual pumpkin hunt, but it was worth it!
