Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Wyatt sort of figured out how to open a present this time around. He would pull of a bit of paper and then hand it to whoever was nearby to take it from him.

In this pictures he is really excited......ooohhh what's that!
Here is Wyatt opening a new book...the kid loves to be read to!

Here the boys are at Grandma and Grandpa Balk's house on Christmas day. By the time we opened presents there he definitely had the whole opening presents thing down!

Winter Coats.....

So for anyone reading this that is a parent....you know what I'm talking about....winter coats are just a big hassle! It seems everyday I have to fight Wyatt to get him into his coat, hat, and mittens.

On top of that....I then have to stuff him into his car seat.....he's just so much puffier with the coat on! Is it spring yet?!?!

Lastly, here is a picture of Wyatt by our Christmas tree.....which he loves. He's fairly good about not ripping off ornaments....most of the time!

HOW MANY STITCHES!!!!

Oh...Where to start! We got out of school early today (12:30) for snow. I was on my way to get Wyatt from daycare when Brian called saying our daycare lady's husband had just called him and Wyatt had just fallen and probably needed stitches.....(this is me freaking out)!
He was running...as he always does.....looked behind him....tripped (clumsy like me)...and his head hit the door frame. By the time I got there our daycare lady had the blood contained and covered with a band aid. We got into our family doctor fairly quickly....and at 13 1/2 months Wyatt got his first set of stitches!

It all but broke my heart to see and hear him cry!! I hope this is our last time doing this....but with Brian's genes I'm sure this will be the first of many trips we will make to get stitches!

Hanging Out

What does Wyatt need to relax?....a sippy cup, a snack, and his pacifier.....Happy as can be!

Wyatt loves it when the hamper is downstairs and empty....he pushed it around and around the kitchen....it terrifies the dog!

Videos

I haven't posted any videos in awhile...so here are a few. The first one is Wyatt helping me Swiffer the kitchen floor.....he loves to push it around!

This one shows just how much Wyatt loves his 'goggy'...also known as Trucker Dog.

A Country Boy

Who doesn't love a little boy in John Deere Green?!? Now Wyatt just needs a tractor to ride on!
As always here is he hamming it up for the camera!

What do you get when you give a one year old Jell-o cake?
A super sticky mess! He went right into the tub after this snack.

Not must new around here. We had the Balk's Thanksgiving on Thursday and will have the Linn's Thanksgiving tomorrow afternoon. And then we all have to go back to school/daycare....BOOO!

FINALLY!!!

We finally got our computer back!!!! They put in a new hard drive....thus we lost a few things....but nothing too important! Here are a few photos we've taken recently.

Our days seem to revolve around food these days! He seems to eat everything....except noodles...we'll have to work on that one!

Technology...gotta love it?!?!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile....our new computer that we bought back in April is in the shop. We hope to get it back tomorrow....because our old laptop just doesn't cut it! I will post some new pictures when we are back up and rolling with the new one!

Halloween

Here are a few photos of Wyatt's first real Halloween!....last year he was only a few weeks old so he didn't get dressed up. We borrowed this dragon costume from a friend of mine. It worked out well, he didn't hate it the way we thought he would!

In this photo he is telling us something...and trying to take off the dragon's head hood. Wyatt thought this costume looked much better on daddy...I should have gotten a picture of Brian with it on his head....next year!

During that day I tried to get Wyatt to hold the pumpkin and walk around....practicing for when we went to his grandparents....but he just wanted to throw it!

A Silly Spook

I had to share these photos of Wyatt with his new spooky pajamas he got for his birthday!

Birthday Continued

More Balloons!!!
And lastly here is a family photo of the three of us!

Happy Birthday!

We had Wyatt's first birthday party today....seriously has it really been a year?!?! Here he is with a balloon....loves them as much as his dad does.

Here we are opening presents. He really didn't understand it, but liked playing with the paper.

My boys, Brian and Wyatt are reading a book he got from cousins Grace and Emilia.

Bib on and ready to eat some cake!

Yummy! Wyatt's first cake! Don't worry, the black icing came right off in a bath!

Almost 1!!

Wyatt loves the camera, whenever I take it out I have to be quick to snap a picture otherwise I get this...him in my face!

For Wyatt's birthday party Brian just had to buy this helium tank with 30 balloons....we bought it last week and if you know Brian he couldn't wait to try it out....needless to say we have to buy more balloons for Wyatt's party tomorrow!

It took a whole year, but Wyatt finally fell asleep in his highchair! I'm curious to see how long he sleeps in it...(he's in it right now)...I don't want to move him because he really needs a nap!

Random Pictures

"Grrr....don't take my picture when I have food on my face!"...or at least that's what I thought he said!
He is obviously his father's son!

It's been awhile since I've put any pictures on our blog...it's just been busy. I have to work several volleyball games....extra duties as assigned....and the quarter is winding down!
We had to switch daycares this week as well. Our wonderful daycare lady Kathi decided to stop doing it...so we scrambled and found another nice woman...all the way across town that is now taking care of him. I think it was harder on Brian and I than it was on Wyatt!

This week

What a grin! I finally got a picture where you could see his bottom two front teeth....still working on the top two! He thinks he's pretty hot stuff these days as he has really mastered walking and wearing shoes.
Here comes fall! This is Wyatt's fall fleece that Grandma Balk bought him. I'm not sure if he liked the coat or not....but he loved the zipper pull! Go figure!

First Haircut

We finally cut Wyatt's crazy hair this afternoon. Brian just used his buzzers with a five attachment on it. He sat pretty well for most of it. Wyatt now has fairly blonde hair....and he looks so much older!
Wyatt also really started walking today....not just stumbling! What a day!

What are these things?

Since fall and winter are right around the corner, I've decided that Wyatt needs to start wearing shoes.......Brian and Wyatt still aren't too sure about it. He's got a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of sandals. The tennis shoes lasted for a couple of hours last night while we were at the Ruthven football game and his sandals lasted all the way through the grocery store this morning! I just think he can't go barefoot forever!

Ready for Winter

A few weeks ago Brian and I went up to Sioux Falls to visit Grandpa and Grandma Balk while they were up there and picked up Wyatt's winter coat, fall coat, and a hat. (It took both Lorrie and I a few minutes to convince Brian that Wyatt needed a hat with a strap under the chin)....It's a little bit big right now, but with the way he grows it will probably be too small by the time March rolls around!

Wyatt's First Fair

The three of us went to the Clay County Fair last night to eat dinner. It was Wyatt's first fair. He did pretty good, except while Brian and I were eating at the Chop Shop....He doesn't sit very well in one place....wonder who he gets that from?!?! I gave him a little bite of my Tom Thumb Donuts. He wasn't too sure about them.....next year I bet he changes his mind. Brian had his favorite fair food....hand squeezed lemonade and that was enough fair for us. Next year will be a lot more exciting...with an almost two year old!

He's walking

Wyatt took his first steps this past weekend! He's gotten really good at walking when he has a hold of one of my fingers, but on Sunday he got really brave and took four or five steps all by his self! We all knew he was close...but I still can't believe our baby boy is walking! Now I just have to convince him he needs to wear shoes!

Pictures....finally

I finally found some time to upload a few pictures from the camera. It's been busy since I've been back at school! Wyatt loves phones....especially eating them?!?!

Here he is 'sneaking' up on me when I'm trying to get the camera turned on and ready to go.
And the swing.....he followed me into the office the other day and saw the swing in there....he didn't like it when he was littler, but just had to see what it was all about now. He swung in it for about 15 minutes and then decided he still didn't like it. Brian and I really need to get him to the park for a ride on a real swing....before it gets too cold!

Another tooth

Wyatt's other top front tooth has broken the surface finally. He's been a drooling snotty mess for a week or so because of it! On a side note....I never thought I'd come to work with dried snot on my clothes....but today it happened......I didn't see it before I left the house.

Wyatt also attended his first football game this past Friday....Ruthven-Ayrshire vs. Remsen Union. We made it all the way to half time before we had to leave. He seemed to enjoy watching all of the people, kids running around, and music from the pep band. We'll definitely have to go to a few more this year!

I haven't take any pictures lately, I'll try to get one of his teeth...and not his snot!

Back to Work

Well it's that time of year...back to school! I went back on Monday and the students came back on Thursday. And no, I didn't get a first day of school picture taken like mom used to! The first week went really well...I hope it will be a great year!

I was worried about bringing Wyatt back to daycare, but surprisingly he was happy to be back. He had fun playing with Kathi's two daughters (Kathi's our daycare lady...who by the way I absolutely love!) before they started back to school and the other little ones there. I know other moms will agree with me when I say having a great daycare provider sure does make life so much nicer! Last year most of the kids were preschool age, but this year they are pretty little. Currently Wyatt is the youngest, but she will be getting a baby around fair time. It will be interesting to see how he does around an infant!

New Discoveries

Wyatt has really started getting around....and into EVERYTHING! Here he is pulling out all of the burp clothes from a canvas tote. When Brian or I put them back into the tote he just has to pull them back out.
Here he is staring and talking to himself in the full length mirror in our extra bedroom. This has become a favorite thing to do in the morning while I'm finishing getting ready for school. He loves to wave at the 'little boy' in the mirror...so cute!
Lastly, here is Wyatt discovering how fun it is to play under his highchair. Just this morning I found him investigating the underside of it. He probably did this for almost a half an hour!
It's so fun to see what new things he finds everyday!

Fun in the Sun

I refilled the pool....where it wouldn't kill the grass....and Wyatt's cousins Grace and Emilia came up and swam with him. I think everyone had a good...wet time, including my sister Kelli and myself....splashing seemed to be the theme of the day! After their swim we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Linn's for a great summer time meal of cheeseburgers and corn on the cob! Yum Yum!
