So, it's been 5 months, not sure how that happened, but here is a small (29 photo) update.
Ruthie's hair was starting to get long enough to need to keep it out of her face, she would wear the clips in her hair in March....but now she tears them out.
My two babies hanging out in the living room. As a bonus, both are looking at the camera (phone) and smiling!
Ruthie loves spaghetti....just like me! Finally something from me and not from Brian.
Donuts from Carroll's Bakery here in town. Ruthie Rue could be their spokesperson!
"Helping" me cook.....also known as being under my feet and tripping me.
Warm Chocolate Chunk Cookies.......deliciously messy
A few Saturday morning PJ photos. Wyatt went through a few months of only taking a picture if he could stick out his tongue. Luckily this stage has passed for now.
I dug out the little person slide that Wyatt got from the Balk's when he was Ruthie's age. She loves it and likes to say WEEEE as she goes down.
A selfie of the kids and I...again Wyatt and the tongue
Wyatt's little tractor....now Ruthie's little tractor.
Ruthie likes to attack Wyatt with hugs.....Wyatt does not like this kind of attack....he prefers ninja or light saber attacks
This one was taken in May....when the whole house went through a stomach flu. Wyatt missed two days of school this week....the only two days he missed of 4 year old preschool.
Playing outside at Kristal's house (daycare)
Playing on the rocks at the Hospital Park, two blocks from the house.
Wyatt's last day of 4 year old preschool. If you go back to the post with him starting preschool you can see how much he's grown in 10 months. As of this past Wednesday he's 4 Feet and 56 Pounds.
I ran my first half marathon the last day of May. Des Moines Dam to Dam. Here is Ruthie with my medal....she sure looks proud!
One of our first days of summer! Love it!!
Sunday afternoon nap. Ruthie refused to quiet down in her crib so we let her wander for awhile. It wasn't long before I found them like this!
New shoes and her first headband......she loved them in this pictures.....now she hates the shoes (only wants to wear tennis shoes) and wants to wear the headband but it only lasts about two minutes.
In preparation for Kindergarten......whoa, when did that happen...Wyatt starting Kindergarten!
He's had a physical, eye exam and here a dental exam. The dentist, a high school friend of ours said he has amazing teeth! So maybe no braces ?
As part of these before school check ups, Brian and I decided to finally get Wyatt allergy tested. He and I went to Sioux City Wednesday for the prick testing. He reacted quite positively....or should I say negatively...to peanuts. We have known he's allergic to them for a few years....it's just official now. The reaction was big enough that the doctor prescribed him with an Epi-Pen....to be carried with him all the time. We didn't think of this peanut problem much, just not to eat it...but speaking for myself...when the doctor told me he could go into anaphylactic shock during a peanut exposure....I kind of freaked out. He plans to never eat peanuts again.....not even accidently....as he hates needles as much as Brian does.
We got to dog sit Cooper, Brian's mom's dog for two weeks in June and July. Cooper loves popcorn as much as Wyatt does. It was one sure way for the house to be quiet for 30 minute.
Kona....our new dog! Here she is at 8 1/2 weeks. She was born on Mother's Day. She is a German Short hair puppy.
Brian and I had forgotten how much work a puppy was......it's like having an infant again.
It's tough being 19 months.....A drive across town often puts Ruthie to sleep. She won't nap in the morning anymore, so if she's grouchy I'll drive around for a bit.
Ruthie's first Dairy Queen cup....all for herself. This cup of vanilla was quite a bit tamer than her second one....which went all over the car seat.
So....we're moving on up.....Brian and I purchased our first commercial property a few weeks ago. We are excited to get everything moved an into the new space. This is also our first selfie together. :)
Wyatt and Kona....hopefully they will grow up together to be wonderful friends.
