This past weekend the Balk side of the family, (Nana Lorrie, Matt, Elizabeth, Brian, Wyatt, and I) ventured to the other side of the state to say goodbye to Papa Jeff. We had a small ceremony at a very small cemetery in the town that Jeff grew up in. It was fun to see a few of his siblings that we hadn't seen in awhile.
While over there, we made a day adventure of Dubuque's Mississippi Museum and Aquarium. Honestly more Aquarium than Museum....we've got a 3 1/2 year old!
Wyatt loved the turtles.....

Turtles are apparently very fascinating to a little kid.
Best of all....was this ENORMOUS blue catfish. Wyatt was immediately enamored! We probably spent a good 15 minutes at this tank.....just watching and asking questions about this massive fish.

Wyatt took this one too....he was trying to get a picture of the big turtle that is behind this big fish...I guess the fish was feeling left out!
Me and my buddy! He's so big it's hard to hang on to him for long periods of time....and he's a bit of a squirmer!
This is my favorite photo of the day! I love the look on Wyatt's face....simply amazed at the world around him!
